Web pages contain content.
Someone creates the
graphic images (photos, logos, clip art, or "movies") and the text that make up each page.
That content might be a totally new creation of a design team
consisting of a graphic designer, a technical or advertising copy
writer, and a web designer, or it may be pre-existing content provided
by the website owner to the web designer.
Regardless of how it is created, a web designer puts all
the content together so that it's easy to read and quick
to navigate when viewed from a computer monitor and each web page has
all the underlying computer code that search engines and web browsers
expect to find.
Whether we're using pre-existing content or
creating content from scratch, we choose a web
page layout and color combination so that each website is unique, attractive, fast-loading, and search-engine and people
friendly.
Websites require software to operate.
Typically, a web designer uses an "html
editor" program to create the design and place the text and content. A
website that makes extensive use of shopping carts or databases may
require additional software applications. Occasionally, it will be necessary to develop
specialized software from scratch so that web applications interface with
other
business functions.
Free Initial Consultation
In our initial discussion, we talk with you about your
expectations -- the functions you expect your website to
perform and how you expect it to interface with your other business
functions. We also discuss what content you will provide and what you
expect us to create. Since there is a lot to discuss before we can bid
your project, we offer a free initial consultation.
